India Meteorological Department, New Delhi receives and process NOAA TOVS ATOVS data in real time. The physical neural network approaches have been used to retrieve atmospheric temperature moisture profiles from NOAA-16 & 17 satellites AMSU over Indian region. earlier training set based on global only for two seasons technique has replaced by new regional land ocean all the seasons. improved accuracy retrieved using approach compared method. detail validation inter comparisons of also carried out with ECMWF analysis sea separately different year 2002-2003. performance is found be superior method.
